2026 Project
Among the many things I want to focus on in 2026 (weight loss, savings, minimize my life, enjoy media again) one that I hope to bring to life is a realm. I want to create a playground where I can craft stories, artwork, and games that have a unified setting. A place I can call my own but share with others in hopes that they will enjoy it.
You could say I want to craft a world, but I think realm is a better word to use here. A realm might sound small, but I think it helps with focus. A world gives the connotation of a grand, epic scope detailing civilizations, religions, and/or magic/technology level for each of them. I want to focus on a place and build upon it. Be it a haunted island, corpo archology, or troubled tri-state area, I want to create and nourish this realm.
Look at the Grand Theft Auto games. They focus on a region for the rich storytelling in each of their games: Liberty City, San Andreas, Vice City, Los Santos. The whole world isn’t created (although heavily implied) but focus is targeted on making these cities, and the areas around them, fleshed out with their own histories and quirks. That’s what I want to do with my realm. Make it seem like an interesting place to visit and write/craft/play within.
