I was cleaning out a dresser drawer, that was filled with junk, when I came across some old photos. I thumbed through them and found this one of the Capitol Hill Mystery Soda Machine that I took in 2017. I don’t know why but looking at this image made me have the motivation to open up and rework this old website, that has been lying fallow for years. I deleted the old posts, picked a new layout and color palette and wrote up this first post. “Why?”
“Fuck, why not!”
I have to say…I constantly feel as if my ideas and skills are inferior. Or that I’m just retreading on an idea that was already done, but better. So, I tend to just quit halfway through. I have a folder on my computer that is filled with piecemeal concepts for stories and game designs. I know they will just linger there if I let them. But as I look out and see the cool stuff other individuals that I follow created, I think to myself…“Fuck, why not!”
So, I decided that if I just spend the time creating something that I love, then I know at least one person that will enjoy it. Me. And if I put it out into the world and other folks like it too, that’s fine but not really important to my wellbeing. The main thing is that I created something and I’m happy. And this old Polaroid I took of a haggard looking soda machine makes me happy.
